New Virginia Law Prohibits Cell Phone Use for Driver Under 18

Category: Virginia Criminal Law

Beginning July 1, drivers younger than 18 will be prohibited from using cell phones or other wireless devices.

Violators will be fined $50 for breaking the new law passed by the General Assembly and signed yesterday by Kaine.

However, police may cite a teen for the violation only if he has been pulled over for another offense.

book to be released today (March 1, 2007) by the
major publishing company G.P.Putnam's Sons. His book is
already getting rave reviews from the big
shots of this genre Jonathan Harr (author of "A Civil
Action" -movie starred John Travolta and Robert Duvall) ,
George Pelecanos (best-selling crime novelist and
writer/producer of HBO's "The Wire") and
Ronald Kessler (prolific writer with books about
the FBI, CIA, Joseph Kennedy, the Bush administration, etc.),
to name a few.
