Philly.com reports that according to police, a passenger in a vehicle in New Jersey jumped onto the busy I-295 highway, rather than ride with a driver who was driving under the influence. According to New Jersey State police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones, shortly after 11 p.m. on July 20, 32-year-old Juan Baez jumped out of a vehicle on the highway.
According to Jones, 26-year-old Camden, New Jersey resident Stacey Boothroyd was driving her 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass at a speed of approximately 50 miles per hour when "she got into a sharp disagreement with her passenger" and Baez jumped. Seconds later, Boothroyd pulled over.
According to Jones, Baez "was banged up pretty good" and suffered several cuts and bruises. Jones said that Baez received treatment at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
Marijuana was discovered inside the Cutlass after it was towed to an impound lot. Boothroyd was charged with drunken driving (DUI) and released to her mother's custody, according to Jones.
