In a bit of irony, a state delegate from Maryland who called for repeat offenders of driving under the influence to be issued "DUI" license plates has been charged with DUI himself, according to MyFoxDC.com.
According to a Montgomery County police report, Herman Taylor, Jr. was cited by an officer who found him sleeping with his SUV idling at a Silver Spring 7-Eleven on May 1.
According to the report, the officer spotted Taylor pulling into the parking lot and then saw him rest his head on the back of his seat. The officer had to shake Taylor in order to awaken him and said he smelled alcohol.
A trial has been scheduled for October 24 for the Montgomery County Democrat.
