Man Arrested By Oakley, California Police After Fatal Motorcycle Crash

California's The Mercury News reports that police in Oakley, California have arrested a 42-year-old man on charges of felony drunk driving (DUI) and vehicular manslaughter following a fatal June 1 crash, according to police. According to Oakley Police Chief Chris Thorsen, Robert Feit was detained at the scene of the crash.
According to officials, 65-year-old Bethel Island, California resident Jack Gilbert died at approximately 7:45 after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck the pickup truck of Feit. Officers had to close the roadway for several hours after the crash.
According to Thorsen, besides the drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter charges, Feit was also arrested on suspicion of drunk driving resulting in injury. Thorsen said that Feit admitted that he had been drinking.
